According to ACC, "this operation will accelerate the development of ACC and strengthen its position as a key player in the battery industry to equip high-performance, low-carbon electric vehicles". The gigafactory are supposed to be located in France, Germany and Italy.

The site will be built in Marshall County, Mississippi and is expected to create more than 2,000 U.S. manufacturing jobs, with the option for further expansion as demand grows. The 21-gigawatt hour (GWh) factory is expected to begin producing battery cells in 2027.

In addition to the expansion of Northvolt Ett’s cathode production and cell manufacturing, the finance package will enable the expansion of the adjacent recycling plant, Revolt Ett, which is approaching the conclusion of its commissioning and is processing its first materials.

The factory may be built in Spain under a possible cooperation between Stellantis itself and Chinese battery manufacturer CATL. Zaragoza is the most likely location for the new gigafactory.

SymphonHy is Europe's largest integrated site producing hydrogen fuel cells, with a production capacity of 50,000 fuel cell systems a year to be reached by 2026. Over 450 engineers are involved in the gigafactory.

The new StarPlus Energy plant is expected to begin production in early 2027 with an annual capacity of 34 gigawatt hours (GWh). The joint venture company will invest over $3.2 billion (€2.8 billion).
