The new steel is produced by the Swedish steel company SSAB and called SSAB Zero. It is made from recycled material and produced using fossil-free electricity and biogas. Next year, the frame rails in around 12,000 Volvo FH and FM trucks will be made of low-CO2-emission steel.

More efficient batteries, a further improved battery management system and overall efficiency of the powertrain also contribute to the extended range. The new Volvo FH Electric will be released for sale during the second half of 2025.

The so-called Charging Management is a brand-new service offered by Volvo. It allows transport companies to efficiently manage the private charging of their electric trucks at the home-depot.

The agreement is part of DSV plan to deploy 2000 electric trucks in its fleet by 2030. The deal also includes 500 Volvo trucks with highly fuel-efficient diesel and gas drivelines. All trucks are planned to be delivered between 2024 and 2026.
