E.ON Drive Infrastructure acquires former BP Pulse charging network in the Netherlands
E.ON Drive Infrastructure has acquired the former BP Pulse fast-charging network in the Netherlands, comprising 79 locations and 370 charging points. The infrastructure will operate under the Essent brand, while the agreement also includes 45 additional sites earmarked for future charging hubs.

E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI) has taken over the former BP Pulse fast-charging network in the Netherlands, expanding its presence in the country’s public EV charging market.
The acquisition covers 79 locations with a total of 370 charging points, most of them situated at OK fuel stations along major traffic routes. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The network will operate under the Essent brand, with chargers displaying the indication “Operated by E.ON Drive”. Both companies belong to the E.ON Group. EDRI will retain ownership and responsibility for investment, operation and maintenance, while Essent will manage customer-facing activities.
Fast chargers up to 300 kW and 45 additional sites planned
The acquired network features Alpitronic fast chargers delivering up to 300 kW. Some locations also use battery-buffered charging systems, allowing high-power charging even where grid connection capacity is limited.
The agreement includes 45 additional development sites for future fast-charging hubs, which are expected to be developed progressively over the coming years.
The transaction follows BP’s withdrawal from the Dutch market. Its former fuel station operations were acquired by Catom, which now operates them under the OK brand.
EDRI’s existing 46 fast-charging points in the Netherlands will also be rebranded as Essent, further expanding the brand’s presence in public charging infrastructure.
