MAN Truck & Bus has reached the milestone of 200,000 TGE vans produced, with the anniversary vehicle rolling off the assembly line at the Września plant in Poland in early October 2026.

The milestone coincides with the tenth anniversary of the model’s debut at IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hannover in 2016. Series production began in spring 2017, marking MAN’s entry into the light commercial vehicle segment.

The 200,000th TGE is a rear-wheel-drive TGE 5.160 chassis cab with automatic transmission, intended for further conversion.

MAN TGE production has accelerated significantly

The latest milestone also reflects the growth of TGE production over the past decade. MAN took more than six years to manufacture the first 100,000 vehicles, reaching that figure in summer 2023. By comparison, the following 100,000 units were produced in just over three years.

The TGE is used across a wide range of professional applications, including construction, logistics, municipal services and passenger transport, as well as specialist conversions.

Chassis cabs and automatic transmissions gain ground

According to MAN’s production figures, panel vans account for 71% of all TGE vehicles manufactured to date. Single-cab chassis vehicles represent 21%, while double-cab chassis versions account for the remaining 8%.

The figures underline the importance of the TGE as a platform for professional bodybuilders, with chassis variants supporting applications ranging from tippers and refrigerated vehicles to other specialised configurations.

Automatic transmissions have also become increasingly important in the model’s production mix. 53% of TGE vehicles produced so far have been equipped with an automatic gearbox, compared with 47% featuring a manual transmission.

MAN also released some details about the anniversary vehicle itself: the white TGE 5.160 consists of 1,264 individual components and required approximately 52 hours of production at the Polish facility.
