An official ceremony held on January 30 signals the preliminary phase of BYD's state-of-the-art production facility in Hungary. The highly advanced manufacturing plant will be built in Szeged, in the South East of the country.

In fall 2023, Hungarian logistics company Waberer's tested a BYD medium truck with 19 tons GVW. It was an electric truck, engaged mainly in an urban context in Budapest. And Hungary is the country where BYD decided to build their second European factory.

The BYD refuse trucks are all third-generation equipment and use BYD’s state-of-the-art lithium iron phosphate batteries. The fleet consists two BYD 8R refuse trucks that have a 25-cubic-yard compactor body and three BYD 6R refuse trucks that come with a 10-cubic-yard compactor body.
