At IAA Transportation, BYD was not just one of the several Chinese manufacturers which take part in the German exhibition. It is perhaps the only one ready to actually join the competition of freight transportation in Europe. Indeed, at IAA, BYD announced the cooperation with major logistics company CEVA Logistics, with the latter to purchase four ETH8 trucks by January 2025. The four new BYD trucks will be incorporated into CEVA’s existing Ground operations in the Netherlands.

What’s new: the E-VALI and the electric yard tractor

Staying in Hannover, the actual news was the official launch of the E-VALI, an inspiring new 3.5t/4.25t light commercial vehicle, designed specifically for the European market. Equipped with the latest BYD Blade Battery technology, the BYD E-VALI is conceived to excel in safety performance, durability and efficiency, and extended lifecycle. Comfortable with an ergonomically designed and well-equipped cabin area, the BYD E-VALI also comes with a high specification of ADAS equipment. Also, with a range of 220 to 250 km (depending on variant), it is a practical and low-maintenance solution for eco-friendly commercial van fleets.

Finally, at IAA, BYD introduced the EYT 2.0 Electric Yard Tractor to Europe. The truck adopts a new design concept to modernize its appearance, retaining the characteristic offset cab which offers excellent comfort and visibility. Equipped with the ultra-safe BYD Blade Battery, it offers a working time of up to 16 hours with quick efficient charging between shifts for optimal productivity.
