The Battery Experts Forum 2024 kicked off on November 5 and lasts until November 7 at the Science and Congress Center Darmstadt, bringing together leading minds in the battery and energy storage industries. Here is our report from the 2023 edition of the international conference. One of the forum’s highlights is be a keynote from Sven Bauer, founder and CEO of the globally active BMZ Group.

Bauer brought pioneering spirit and deep industry expertise, and critically examined the challenges and regulatory framework of battery manufacturing in Germany. Prof. Dr. Günther Schuh, an expert in production systems, innovation management, and sustainable mobility, delivered a keynote on November 6. At RWTH Aachen and the Fraunhofer IPT, he researches topics like Industry 4.0, production efficiency, and electromobility. As an entrepreneur and co-founder of StreetScooter and e.GO Mobile, Prof. Schuh provides practical insights into disruptive innovations and sustainable mobility solutions.

In addition, Burkhard Holder, Director of Trends & Innovation at VDE Renewables, explored the dynamic developments in sustainable energy, with a focus on applied research and energy policy initiatives. Also, Gabi Franziska Gottstein of JEOL gave in-depth insights into material analysis for battery development and demonstrate how modern analytical methods enhance battery efficiency and performance.

The forum is led and organized by Matthias Girlich, Project Manager of the Battery Experts Forum. “We are proud to offer a platform that brings together industry expertise and the latest innovations,” said Girlich. “With this forum, held in the unique atmosphere of the Darmstadtium, we create opportunities for knowledge transfer and professional exchange.”
