MAN Truck & Bus is getting ready for IAA Transportation 2026, to be held in Hannover from 15 to 20 September. The Bavarian truck maker has recently gathered the international press for the traditional pre-IAA press conference in Munich. There, the company highlighted the new additions to the 2026 range of ICE and electric trucks. Some of the most significant advancements will be made on the ADAS equipment, as well as on the refinement of already available functions, such as EfficientCruise with PredictiveDrive.
According to MAN, “consistent use of the further-developed MAN EfficientCruise cruise control with PredictiveDrive enables fuel or energy savings of around 5 per cent, depending on the operating profile – rising to as much as 9 per cent in demanding terrain”. At the heart of the efficiency drive is the further development of the terrain responsive cruise control MAN EfficientCruise with PredictiveDrive, which MAN offers across all truck ranges from the TGL to the TGX, for both combustion and electric drivetrains.

More into details, using high-resolution 3D maps, the GPS-based system reads the route profile of the selected navigation route up to three kilometres ahead and selects the optimum driving and gear-shifting strategy. For battery-electric vehicles, MAN is also expanding its MAN Charge&Go offering with 50 additional charging locations across Europe, including in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Portugal.
More into the specifications of the Model year 2026, MAN is significantly expanding its portfolio of driver assistance systems with the latest version of the MAN Emergency Brake Assist, called EBA Advanced, which significantly improves the detection of vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. The latest version also takes into account oncoming vehicles in turning situations and helps to avoid side collisions with stationary vehicles protruding into the lane. EBA Advanced is generally active from a speed of 1 km/h up to the maximum speed, and offers a maximum speed reduction of up to 100 km/h.

The new MAN Driver Monitoring System
In addition, the new MAN Driver Monitoring System detects driver distraction and fatigue based on gaze direction, driving behaviour and lane-keeping accuracy, and provides timely warnings of critical situations. Also the turning assistant has been enhanced. MAN is also expanding its OptiView digital mirror replacement system with a variant featuring a conventional front mirror.
For demanding transport operations with heavy combinations, particularly in timber transport, on mountain routes, forest tracks and logging roads, or in difficult weather conditions, MAN will in future offer an electronic trailer stability brake. The system stabilises the combination during braking, when cornering and on slippery surfaces, significantly reducing the risk of jackknifing,
where the trailer pushes the towing vehicle off course. Once activated by the driver, the new function operates fully automatically.
