Battery swap for electric trucks: the role of Qiji Energy

The system was officially released a few days ago during a dedicated event in Datong, Shanxi province. Back in 2023, CATL launched the brand Qiji Energy to boost the adoption of battery swap systems when it comes to heavy-duty vehicles. According to Yang Jun, CEO of Qiji Energy, CATL has already launched at least 30 battery-swap enabled electric truck models in China.

Finally, according to CnEvPost, the global company plans to build 300 battery swap stations serving heavy trucks in 13 core regions in China by the end of 2025, and a battery swap network covering 16 city clusters by 2030.
