FedEx orders 131 DAF trucks for operations across Europe
FedEx has ordered 131 DAF trucks for its European operations, including 100 XD tractors for the UK, 11 XG tractors for the Netherlands and 20 XF tractors for France. The deal will also see DAF trucks enter FedEx's French operations for the first time.
FedEx has placed an order for 131 DAF trucks for its European transport operations, covering fleets in the UK, the Netherlands and France.
The largest part of the order consists of 100 DAF XD tractor units for daily operations in the UK. FedEx will also receive 11 DAF XG tractors for the Netherlands and 20 DAF XF tractors for long-distance transport in France.
The agreement combines fleet replacement with expansion. According to DAF, FedEx is replacing linehaul trucks currently in operation while introducing DAF vehicles into its French operations for the first time.
Three DAF models for different FedEx operations
The three models have been selected for different applications within the FedEx European network. The DAF XD 450 will be used for regional and national distribution, while the XF 480 Sleeper Cab is intended for longer-distance transport. FedEx has selected the XG 480 for operations where greater cab interior space is required.
