Hyundai has recently informed that the first XCIENT fuel cell trucks are now headed to South America. Precisely, some fuel cell trucks are on their way to Uruguay. More into details, as stated by Hyundai, “a total of eight heavy-duty trucks powered by hydrogen fuel cells departed from the Port of Gunsan in South Korea, on their journey to Montevideo, Uruguay”.

They are arriving to join the KAHIRÓS Project, a pioneering initiative that, starting in 2026, will transform local timber logistics using green hydrogen generated from solar energy. According to Hyundai, “each truck can travel more than 720 km at full load, enough to complete a full timber transport cycle on a single charge”.
