MAN delivered the first eTGX electric trucks in Italy
The two MAN eTGX vehicles delivered to Fratelli Foppiani Trasporti represent the top of the range of the new generation of electric industrial vehicles. The MAN eTGX 18.544 4×2 road tractor is equipped with six high-voltage batteries with a total capacity of 534 kWh. The second vehicle, a MAN eTGX 26.449 6×2-4 truck, has five batteries (445 kWh capacity).

Fratelli Foppiani Trasporti was the first transport company in Italy to place an order for MAN electric trucks: the eTGX trucks had just been unveiled and, in a great show of confidence, the Lombardy-based company believed in the new technology developed by the Bavarian manufacturer.
Now, almost two years after the order and a few months after the start of series production of electric trucks on the same lines as ICE vehicles, the official delivery took place on Saturday, October 4, at the company’s headquarters in Corsico, not far from Milan, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of the Italian transport company. The two MAN eTGX trucks you see in the pictures are ready to hit the Italian roads.

MAN eTGX: a tractor and a rigid trucks delivered in Lombardy
More into details, the two MAN eTGX vehicles delivered to Fratelli Foppiani Trasporti represent the top of the range of the new generation of electric industrial vehicles. The MAN eTGX 18.544 4×2 road tractor is equipped with six high-voltage batteries with a total capacity of 534 kWh. The second vehicle, a MAN eTGX 26.449 6×2-4 truck, has five batteries (445 kWh capacity).
MAN Italia also reports that the electro-compatibility analysis conducted highlighted two main operating hubs for the two vehicles: Corsico for the tractor and Busto Arsizio (close to Varese, Lombardy) for the rigid truck. The tractor’s routes are based on a shuttle model with return to base. The rigid truck, on the other hand, operates mainly on the route starting and ending in Busto Arsizio, passing through the Milan and Bergamo hinterland. The Fratelli Foppiani Trasporti company has a 250 kW CPU-Power Unit at its headquarters in Corsico, which can be expanded up to 400 kW, and a satellite with a double optimized cable management system.
“This delivery represents a fundamental step for sustainable transport in Italy,” added Marc Martinez, MAN Italia CEO. “We are proud to have achieved this together with a long-standing partner such as Fratelli Foppiani, which has once again demonstrated vision and courage.”
