Currently President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, Mathias Vaitl will take over the responsibility as Head of Sales & Marketing Mercedes‑Benz Vans, effective July 1, 2026. He succeeds Sagree Sardien, who has decided to leave the company by May 31, 2026.

Mathias Vaitl: his career within Mercedes-Benz Vans

As communicated by the company, Mathias Vaitl, following several strategic roles in Stuttgart, moved to China in 2011 where he initially led the Training Organization & Infrastructure department before taking over responsibility for Warranty, Goodwill & Service Contracts at Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service Co., Ltd. (BMBS). Then, Vaitl returned to Germany in 2015 as Head of Global Sales Steering at Global Services & Parts and eventually led the Global Training activities for Mercedes‑Benz. In 2020, he became Head of Mercedes me, Digital Services Business and eCommerce before he took over his current role as President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea in 2023.
