Dutch company Egala has expanded its European fleet with 175 Mercedes-Benz trucks, including 20 battery-electric eActros 600 and 155 conventional Actros 1845 LS tractor units.

The vehicles have already been delivered and put into operation, according to Daimler Truck. The investment marks a further step in Egala’s fleet expansion and introduces electric trucks into the transport capacity services it provides to customers across Europe.

Egala operates as an outsourcing partner for transport and logistics companies, supplying trucks, drivers and additional operational services. Its business model is based on providing flexible transport capacity without requiring customers to invest directly in vehicles or personnel.

Electric trucks become part of Egala’s European operations

The 20 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 will allow Egala to offer battery-electric transport capacity to its customers, alongside its conventional diesel fleet.

The remaining 155 vehicles are Mercedes-Benz Actros 1845 LS tractor units. All 175 trucks feature the aerodynamic ProCabin, with GigaSpace and StreamSpace cab configurations, as well as the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2. In addition, driver assistance equipment includes Active Brake Assist 6 Plus and Sideguard Assist 2.

According to Daimler Truck, the vehicles meet VECTO Class 3 requirements. “This is more than an investment in our fleet. We are investing in a partnership with companies that, like us, think ahead and take a long-term approach. Reliability and continuity are key,” said Sjef Boekestijn, CEO of Egala.

Maintenance and fleet management across Europe

Alongside the vehicle deliveries, Egala has signed an international repair and maintenance agreement with Mercedes-Benz Trucks. The fleet will also use Mercedes-Benz Uptime, which monitors vehicle condition to support preventive maintenance and reduce unexpected downtime.

The company’s fleet management operations will be supported by Fleetboard, providing vehicle data and analysis of driving behaviour, utilisation and operational efficiency.

“An order of this magnitude demonstrates the strong confidence Egala has in our products and services,” said Eric Brok, CEO of Daimler Truck Nederland. “For us, this collaboration extends far beyond the delivery of 175 trucks. With our vehicles, digital services and Europe-wide service organisation, we support Egala in maintaining high fleet availability.”
