Daimler Truck, MAN, Renault Trucks, Volvo Trucks and Scania are the truck makers which will take part in the roadshow. Indeed, those are the brands associated to the partners of the aforementioned joint venture, such as Daimler Truck, TRATON, and Volvo. Milence has got the target to install something like 1,700 high-speed charging points in Europe by 2027.
Milence’s Electric tour in Central Europe
As stated by the company, along the route, Milence will host a series of media moments and stakeholder discussions bringing together European policymakers, industry leaders, logistics operators and shippers to highlight the significant progress made in recent years in electrifying road transport, and to discuss what is needed to further scale and accelerate the transition to electric heavy-duty transport.
The organization of the roadshow is the following:
- Paris – 15 April: Tour launch and opening media moment
- Brussels – 16 April: High-level policy discussion on Europe’s transport transition
- Maasmechelen – 17 April: The importance of “Clean Transport Corridor” initiative
- Zwolle – 20 April: One of the few Megawatt Charging System (MCS)-ready charging hubs in Europe
- Kassel-Lohfelden – 22 April: New hub opening in Germany and one of the few with a battery storage system installed. The event will focus on energy management solutions for efficient and economically viable electric road transport
- Berlin – 23 April: Conclusion and high-level policy discussion on the current challenges in Germany — a market leading in utilisation but lagging in deployment speed.
We’ll keep you up-to-date about the tour, which has the target to “demonstrate the viability of electric freight corridors across Europe”.
