The 16th edition of SOLUTRANS, the biennial trade fair for haulage and urban transport professionals, will take place from 16 to 20 November 2021 at Lyon Eurexpo. The event will gather together some 60,000 operators and 1,000 exhibitors and brands. Almost 90 percent of the exhibition area is already booked and an additional 10,000 square meters pavilion has been added.

Currently, according to the organizers, the most represented countries are Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Turkey. Participants include heavy vehicle manufacturers, body-builders, component manufacturers, manufacturers of workshop equipment, tyres, distribution networks as well as players from the integrated logistics sector.

A study on energy mix will be presented at SOLUTRANS 2021

The exhibition is going to add a new pavilion called SOLUTRANS 4.0. where visitors will be able to discover new energies and engines, in particular hydrogen, primary equipment, IT solutions and the most innovative digital solutions presented by well-established companies as well as start-ups. On 16 November, the Vision’Air study dealing with the energy mix of commercial and industrial vehicles will be presented.

For the French Bodywork Federation (FFC), the exceptional situation experienced by the sector since 2020 and the challenges related to the energy transition oblige companies in the road transport sector to anticipate the evolution of their supply chain. Hence the initiative to finance a multi-client study on the future of the energy mix of industrial vehicles in Europe by 2040, carried out by Le BiPE and Bdo Advisory, longstanding partners of the FFC. The VIsion’Air study will draw up, for the first time in Europe, an analysis of the powertrain mix by looking at various factors (by country, by segment, by year, by main vehicle category) and their carbon contribution.

The I-nnovation Awards

On Tuesday 16 November, during the prestigious gala evening at the legendary Groupama Stadium in Lyon, the I-nnovation Awards will be presented. The awards will be enhanced by a new category: the ‘Digital Award, which will reward the success of a company that has distinguished itself in the field of information technology or connectivity applied to the sector.
