TIP and Valoe signed a contract in January 2023 for equipping hundreds of trailers by the end of 2025. The pilot trailer has vehicle-integrated solar panels which produce enough electricity required for the cooling system, without polluting.

The German company’s proprietary solar technology is integrated into other manufacturers’ vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, buses, and RVs. It provides power to various vehicle systems, reducing CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

The vehicle has been approved for road traffic and is currently hitting the road in Germany. The solar power produced directly on the vehicle can cover 5 to 10 percent of the truck's energy needs.
