In Germany, toll exemption for electric trucks has been extended until June 30, 2031. The Bundestag has voted today with a large majority. Currently, electric trucks were exempted from toll payment until the end of the current year.

Moreover, as pointed out by Milence, “since December 2023, a CO₂ surcharge has been applied to combustion-engine trucks under the German truck toll system. This continues to widen the cost gap in favour of electric trucks, in Germany”.
