Logistics company W&P, whose headquarters are located in Lower Franconia, will purchase 20 Mercedes eActros 600 electric trucks. Indeed, the transport player is investing in electric mobility, as they decided to open huge charging park with 56 charging points.

More into details, the charging park is equipped with 56 DC rapid charging points, which are powered by the company’s own photovoltaic system and a 15,000 kWh battery storage system. During the charging process, truck drivers have access to toilets, showers, waiting rooms and automatic water closets. Additionally, W&P already has three battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 300, each covering routes of around 480 kilometers per day.

Mercedes eActros 600: statements from the companies involved in the purchase

“We are particularly pleased that Spedition W&P is continuing the partnership with our company and has decided on a total of 20 new eActros 600. Together with the opening of its own state-of-the-art charging park, the transport company marks an important milestone for locally C02-free road freight transport in the region, for which we congratulate you”, commented Christian Wilz, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-Benz Trucks & FUSO Germany.

“The eActros 600 impressed us from the very first moment – not only with its impressive range and efficiency, but also with the holistic concept that Mercedes-Benz Trucks offers around electromobility. As a freight forwarder with a focus on sustainable logistics in the recycling industry and the premium textile sector, it was clear to us: The future is electric. The presentation at the world premiere in 2023 was a real highlight – practical, inspiring and forward-looking. We also particularly appreciated the personal exchange at the entrepreneurial evenings at the Daimler Truck Commercial Vehicle Centre in Würzburg. It was clear there: It’s not just about technology, it’s about partnership on equal footing”, added Alexander Wehr, Managing Director of W&P.
