Schenker France, the French branch of DB Schenker, will soon receive up to 66 electric trucks from French manufacturer Renault Trucks. It is by far the most significant order of electric trucks placed by Schenker France. More into details, up to 60 new 16-ton Renault Trucks E-Tech D electric rigids will be joined by 6 Renault Trucks E-Tech T electric tractors.

Schenker France going electric

The latter will be Schenker France’s very first battery-powered tractors. This acquisition was made possible thanks to subsidies from the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (Ademe). The French branch of the global transport company will now include 135 electric trucks, as well as 410 truck running on HVO, and 65 vehicles using bio-LNG.

“Our ambition is to play a primary role in low-carbon logistics, and to achieve this we are investing heavily in the right energy mix”, said Frédéric Vallet, Head of Schenker France. “Electric trucks are an integral part of the solution, and I’m very proud of this further step towards achieving our ambitious goals for environmental sustainability”.
