Schmitz Cargobull expands dry freight trailer range with S.BO PACE+ and S.BO MULTI
Schmitz Cargobull has expanded its dry freight portfolio with two new semi-trailers, the S.BO PACE+ and S.BO MULTI. Presented at IAA Transportation 2026, the models address different logistics requirements, from parcel distribution to the transport of mixed loads, with a focus on payload capacity, flexibility and cargo security.

German trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull has introduced two new models in its dry freight portfolio, targeting parcel delivery operators and companies handling different types of general cargo. The S.BO PACE+ and S.BO MULTI, both presented at IAA Transportation 2026, feature different body configurations designed to meet specific operational requirements.
While the S.BO PACE+ focuses on high-frequency loading and unloading operations, the S.BO MULTI offers greater flexibility for transport companies dealing with changing cargo types.
S.BO PACE+: lightweight construction for parcel logistics
Scheduled to enter the market in January 2027, the S.BO PACE+ has been developed primarily for courier, express and parcel (CEP) operators, as well as standard dry freight applications.
The semi-trailer introduces Schmitz Cargobull’s new FERROSTRUKT technology, combining a steel surface layer with a honeycomb core. According to the manufacturer, this construction provides resistance to impacts and punctures while keeping the vehicle’s unladen weight relatively low.

The body is designed for payloads of up to 27 tonnes, while individual sidewall panels can be replaced if damaged, simplifying repair operations and potentially reducing vehicle downtime.
S.BO MULTI: a flexible double-deck solution
The S.BO MULTI, meanwhile, has been developed for operators requiring greater versatility from a single semi-trailer. Its main feature is an integrated double-deck system with keyhole plates, allowing operators to increase loading capacity by accommodating up to 33 additional Euro pallets.

The interior can also be configured to transport palletised goods, general cargo, hanging garments, automotive components and bulky or loose loads. Multiple load-securing options allow the configuration to be adapted to different transport requirements.
Both models use Schmitz Cargobull’s modular dry freight construction system, including galvanised and bolted chassis components, and comply with DIN EN 12642 Code XL requirements for body strength.
An additional feature concerns cargo security. Both semi-trailers are available with an optional TAPA TSR1-compatible security package, designed for the transport of high-value goods.

The package includes electronic door locks controlled remotely or through geofencing, acoustic alarms with door sensors, a dedicated battery and monitoring functions integrated into the manufacturer’s TrailerConnect telematics platform.
