Isuzu and Honda believe that fuel cell technology, utilizing hydrogen as fuel resulting in no CO2 emissions, will be effective to achieve carbon neutrality of heavy-duty trucks which are required to address large load capacity, long-time use, long-distance driving and the need for quick refueling.

Swiss company Holcim, one of the world’s largest building solution providers, is expected to receive 1,000 e-trucks by 2030, with the first 130 trucks will be delivered by 2024.

According to the Frontier Economics study, "Regulatory costs of Euro 7 - Findings from an industry survey," commissioned by ACEA, the costs per vehicle are expected to be about 2,000 euros for cars and vans with internal combustion engines, and nearly 12,000 euros for diesel trucks and buses.
