Volkswagen Truck & Bus, part of the TRATON Group, was founded exactly 45 years ago. Recognized as one of the world’s largest commercial vehicle maker, VWTB has been consolidating its global market presence and developing more than 100 different models since it first started operations in 1981.

The truck and bus maker currently leads the truck market in Brazil, and is also historically the second largest assembler of buses in the country after having reached this market position with the launch of its first passenger transport chassis and maintaining it ever since.

Additionally, currently there are more than 350 VWTB service centers located on three different continents, 150 of which are concentrated in Brazil to guarantee comprehensive support and a high level of availability for vehicles in operation. The products are divided into the Delivery, Constellation, and Meteor families for cargo transport and the Volksbus for passenger transport. The company is also making important advances in electrification with the e-Delivery and e-Volksbus models.

Throughout its history, the company has put more than 1,250,000 vehicles into circulation, 196,000 of which are on the road worldwide. “Who is behind these successful figures are approximately 5,500 employees divided between VWTB’s factories and operations in Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina”, stated VWTB in the official release.
