Volvo Trucks has received additional order for ten more FE Electric trucks from I.N.C.O., which already owns a fleet of over 300 vehicles for waste collection. The company, whose HQs are located in the Campania region, in Southern Italy, had already ordered a first FE Electric truck back in October, during the Ecomondo exhibition, held in Rimini.

More into details, I.N.C.O. has chosen Volvo Trucks FE Electric vehicles in two different versions: 4×2 and 19 tonnes weight; 6×2 and 27 tonnes weight, with power up to 540 hp. The trucks are equipped with four 66 kWh battery packs and can benefit from two different charging options: 22 kilowatts alternating current, or 150 kilowatts direct current, with the possibility of carrying out full recharge in an hour and a half.

Volvo Trucks FE Electric: improving air quality

Volvo Trucks FE Electric truck units will be part of I.N.C.O.’s fleet of around 300 vehicles, all of which are Euro 6 or powered by alternative fuels. «For years we have been investing in reducing the polluting emissions of our vehicle fleet and improving air quality», declared Managing Director Giuseppe Ascione. «Our relationship with Volvo Trucks was decisive in moving towards electrification: together we assessed our customers’ transport requirements and objectives and simulated possible uses. The idea we had in mind quickly materialized into a major order. The first Volvo FE Electric trucks will be ready soon, and we’ll be using it for in-house demonstrations and field tests. The vehicle is perfectly adapted to waste collection requirements, in terms of travel distance and operation mode. It will delight our customers, just as it has delighted us».
