Webfleet and Mobito expand partnership on connected vehicle data
Webfleet and Mobito are expanding their partnership to make selected connected vehicle datasets available to companies and public organisations. The agreement targets applications including transport and traffic analysis, mapping, infrastructure planning and road monitoring, while also opening opportunities in areas such as EV performance and road safety.

Webfleet and connected vehicle data platform Mobito have expanded their partnership, with the aim of making vehicle-generated data more accessible for applications beyond traditional fleet management.
Under the agreement, Mobito will become a commercial partner and exclusive reseller for selected Webfleet connected vehicle datasets. The data can be used by businesses, cities, road authorities, infrastructure operators and technology providers for applications ranging from transport and traffic analysis to urban planning, mapping and road condition monitoring.
The move essentially extends the use of information generated by connected commercial vehicles beyond individual fleet operations. Mobito aggregates vehicle data and turns it into intelligence that can be integrated into mobility and infrastructure applications.

From fleet data to road and mobility intelligence
“Connected vehicle data has the potential to provide valuable insights beyond the individual fleet, helping organisations better understand how transport networks are being used,” said Jan-Maarten de Vries, President of Fleet Management Solutions at Bridgestone.
One potentially interesting area for commercial transport is the combination of Webfleet data with other mobility datasets. According to Mobito CEO and co-founder George Cambanis, this could generate additional intelligence on EV performance, road safety and strategic delivery corridors, as well as making vehicle data easier to integrate into customers’ existing workflows.
This gives the partnership a broader scope than simply reselling telematics data: connected fleets can effectively become a source of information about how roads and transport networks are performing.
Webfleet and Mobito stressed that the datasets involved are aggregated and anonymised. Data governance measures are intended to prevent individual drivers, vehicles or fleet customers from being identified and to comply with applicable data protection requirements.
Existing Webfleet Data Solutions services will continue during the transition. Webfleet will remain responsible for providing the underlying datasets and supporting their delivery, while account management and commercial relationships will progressively move to Mobito.
