Foton gets serious about Europe with seven vehicles at IAA Transportation 2026
Foton Motor will make its IAA Transportation debut in Hannover with seven vehicles ranging from heavy-duty trucks to vans and buses. Among the highlights will be the CAVAN BEACON, designed for medium- and long-haul applications, while the Chinese manufacturer will also outline its strategy for the European market.
Foton Motor is preparing to make its debut at IAA Transportation 2026 with a comprehensive line-up covering different areas of low-emission transport.
At its stand in Hall 21, covering more than 1,000 square metres, the Chinese manufacturer will showcase seven vehicles and six components developed in-house.
The vehicle line-up will cover long-haul logistics, urban distribution, environmental services and public transport. It will include the Auman Galaxy 9 plug-in hybrid heavy-duty truck, the battery-electric CAVAN BEACON, the Ouhang EHL for urban applications, the Qimingxing electric light truck, the CAVAN C1 van, the Mars PHEV pick-up and a 12-metre electric city bus.
Foton will also showcase several components, including traction batteries for heavy-duty vehicles, electric axles, electronic control systems and megawatt charging solutions.
CAVAN BEACON targets medium- and long-haul transport
One of the main attractions at the Foton stand will be the CAVAN BEACON, which will be presented outside China for the first time. The heavy-duty truck is based on a platform designed to accommodate both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell powertrains.
Foton is targeting medium- and long-haul applications covering more than 300 km, as it looks to enter the zero-emission logistics market on major transport routes.
Foton outlines its strategy for Europe
During the media day on September 14, Foton will also present its European strategy, built around new-energy vehicles, local operations and after-sales services. The company’s spare parts centre in Unna, Germany, is already operational, with the aim of speeding up parts distribution and customer support in Europe.
Hannover will also provide the setting for the handover of Foton’s 13 millionth vehicle, initially destined for the Spanish market. Between January and August 2026, the group’s exports reached 149,000 vehicles, an increase of 44.3% compared with the same period last year.
