Italian-based logistics player A.E.V., whose HQs are located in the Abruzzo region, has expanded its fleet with eight Mercedes-Benz eActros 600s, the new electric trucks designed by Mercedes-Benz Trucks for long-haul transport.

According to A.E.V., the goal is to test electric vehicles “in the most complex terrain, that of long-haul transport,” measuring their performance and environmental benefits on a daily basis. “We have always operated with solid values and have a clear vision: to provide the market with solutions that are already the future of logistics today,” said CEO Elia Di Teodoro.

Eight Mercedes eActros 600 headed to Italy

The arrival of the eActros 600 electric trucks complements that of 12 latest-generation Actros L ProCabin diesel trucks, a choice that reflects quite a hybrid strategy: on the one hand, testing electric vehicles, and on the other, maintaining optimized ICE solutions to ensure operational continuity.

For Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the eActros 600 is the key vehicle for decarbonizing long-haul transport in Europe, a sector that accounts for around two-thirds of CO₂ emissions from heavy-duty transport. The truck offers a claimed range of over 500 km thanks to its new e-axle with dual electric motors and latest-generation LFP batteries.

“The delivery to A.E.V. is an important step towards the spread of electric mobility in freight transport,” said Maurizio Pompei, CEO of Daimler Truck Italia. “A.E.V. confirms its position as a pioneer, demonstrating that sustainability and competitiveness can go hand in hand.”
