Nivalis Energy Systems, North America’s benchmark in zero-emission electric refrigerated transport, today has recently acquired SolarEdge e-Mobility, one of Europe’s most technologically advanced manufacturer of end-to-end electrified trailers. The newly combined Nivalis entity makes Nivalis Energy Systems a primary player in electrified refrigeration, delivering fleet managers, logistics companies and retailers unrivalled cost savings vs. diesel powered refrigeration.

SolarEdge e-Mobility, a step in the European market

Indeed, with more than 25 years in electrification, SolarEdge e-Mobility developed the system that combines three sources of energy generation – solar, e-axle, and grid charging – ensuring maximum autonomy of the e-trailer. Designed for a wide range of refrigerated transport applications across logistics, retail and pharmaceutical sectors, SolarEdge e-Mobility’s partners and customers include a number of blue-chip organisations across Europe and Oceania.

The acquisition gives Nivalis access to SolarEdge e-Mobility’s engineering and R&D capabilities – including a new 3rd Generation platform, the world’s first clean energy solution using three electric power sources. The acquisition also enables Nivalis to expand into Europe by leveraging SolarEdge e-Mobility’s established market presence and service network.

“Refrigerated transport has remained a major diesel-dependent element of the cold chain, and operators are increasingly realizing that electrified refrigeration is no longer simply a sustainability discussion — it’s become a commercial and operational one,” said Sam Plunkett, CEO of Nivalis Energy Systems. “Diesel-powered refrigeration systems are expensive to maintain, expensive to operate — and as major retailers and global brands are under growing pressure to reduce supply-chain emissions and improve ESG reporting across logistics operations — increasingly difficult to justify. The challenge is no longer proving electrified refrigeration can work, it’s helping fleets understand how commercially and operationally viable these systems have now become.”

Nivalis Energy Systems at ACT Expo 2026

At ACT Expo 2026, in Las Vegas, Nivalis Energy Systems showcases its commercially available, and patented, TRU-POWER solution. This provides electrically powered refrigeration via a battery system – already deployed across North American grocery and logistics operations with deployment beginning in late 2023 – helping fleets reduce operating costs, lower maintenance requirements and transition away from diesel-powered transport refrigeration.

Visitors to ACT Expo will also see Nivalis Energy Systems’ new 3rd Generation platform for the first time. In a world’s first, the new 3rd Generation combines battery storage, rooftop solar PV and regenerative e-axle technology to reduce charging dependency, improve operational flexibility and lower overall fleet operating costs.
