The first (and last) time we saw the Tesla Semi in Europe was at the last edition of IAA, in September 2024. At that time, Tesla decided to book quite a small booth in Hannover, also giving the opportunity to test drive the electric truck, which attracted the attention of several visitors. The heavy-duty electric truck was also among the protagonists of ACT Expo 2025, held in Anaheim in April. There, managers from Tesla confirmed that the project is alive and kicking, with plans to sell the truck in Europe, too, besides North America.

The Tesla Semi won’t be in Europe before 2026

At IAA 2024, Tesla’s Head of Truck Development, Dan Priestley, said that the Semi would be adapted to the European market requirements in terms of regulations. The electric truck, which is expected to come to Europe not before 2026, will be produced in Nevada, even though the German factory located in Grünheide might be used as an European production site in the future, according to statements made by Tesla top management.

Now, Tesla appointed former Volta Trucks manager Usuf Schermo to take care of the e-truck debut overseas. Schermo is the new Head of Business Development for the EMEA Region. The news was given by the US web portal Electrek, usually very well informed about insights in the electric vehicle business. As reported by another website, Electrive, Schermo has been in charge of sales at EVUM Motors, a German electric van maker
