BMC unveils new 560 hp PRO L 1856 long-haul truck at IAA 2026
Turkish manufacturer BMC unveiled the new PRO L 1856 at IAA Transportation 2026. Developed for international long-haul operations, the new 4x2 tractor is powered by a 12.9-litre Cummins engine delivering 560 hp and 2,500 Nm, coupled with a ZF automated manual transmission.
BMC used IAA Transportation 2026 to introduce the PRO L 1856, a new 4×2 tractor developed for international long-haul transport and the most powerful model in the Turkish manufacturer’s PRO L truck family.
Unveiled for the first time in Hannover, the PRO L 1856 builds on the existing PRO L 1852 with a more powerful engine and a cab designed around long-distance operations.
At its heart is a 12.9-litre Cummins X13DT diesel engine, delivering 560 hp (412 kW) and 2,500 Nm of torque. The Euro VI-E engine is paired with a ZF 12 TX 2621 TD automated manual transmission with Intarder.
BMC PRO L 1856 targets international long-haul transport
The new tractor features a high-roof, double-berth cab, which BMC describes as its largest and most spacious truck cab to date.
Inside, the PRO L 1856 is equipped with a 10.4-inch touchscreen multimedia system, while the electrohydraulic steering system offers height and reach adjustment. Air suspension and a range of electronic driver assistance and safety systems are also included.
The truck is equipped with two aluminium fuel tanks, with capacities of 800 and 400 litres respectively, providing a combined 1,200 litres for long-distance operations. Safety equipment includes the Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) and Moving Off Information System (MOIS), alongside electronic braking, stability control and hill-holder functions.
The PRO L 1856 therefore represents BMC’s latest step in developing its heavy-duty offering for international markets. The Turkish manufacturer has produced more than 300,000 vehicles since its foundation in 1964 and says it has exported its products to more than 80 countries.
