Chinese manufacturer CATL unveils EV battery with “over 1,000” km range

The current generation of batteries unveiled by CATL can ensure driving range of about 700 km, and are already being used by some car manufacturers on a global scale. The launch of the new battery technology happened at the latest Beijing Auto Show.

Primary Chinese battery maker CATL has recently unveiled innovative LFP EV battery model promising over 1,000 km driving range. The launch event happened at the latest Beijing Auto Show, held until a few days ago in the Chinese capital city.

CATL manages to increase driving range

The current generation of batteries unveiled by CATL can ensure driving range of about 700 km, and are already being used by some car manufacturers on a global scale. According to Reuters, “Chinese battery makers including CATL grew faster than rivals to account for more than two-thirds of global EV battery capacity last year”.

CATL is currently collaborating with some major truck manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz Trucks, in order to equip their innovative electric truck models, such as the eActros 600 with LFP battery packs.
