In the 800-volt variant of the electric motor, Bosch has increased the power density. This reduces weight and allows for a more compact design. Furthermore, this modification allows for thinner cables, which saves on space, weight, and copper.

Between 2021 and 2026, Bosch will have invested a total of nearly 2.5 billion euros in the development and manufacturing of its hydrogen-related technologies. U.S.-based fuel cell truck manufacturer Nikola will serve as the pilot customer.

The two companies have a long-standing collaboration. Bosch is the world's largest supplier to the automotive industry, and in April 2019 the two companies began a collaboration regarding the industrialization, production and sale of PowerCell S3.

Battery Lifecycle Company is building Europe’s first fully automated plant at its site in Magdeburg, with Bosch Rexroth supplying the technology. The site will test used batteries from different manufacturers, deep-discharge them, and prepare them for subsequent shredding.
