Volvo Trucks will participate in IAA 2024, the major European exhibition in the transportation sector, to be held from 17 to 22 September in Hannover. As Volvo Trucks president, Roger Alm, told us in this exclusive interview, the Swedish manufacturer is engaged in promoting and developing its decarbonization roadmap, which is also based on electric and zero-emission vehicles. As a matter of fact, Volvo is the leading European brand in terms of electric truck sales.

Volvo at IAA 2024: the Aero range, then e-axle, FM Low Entry, VNL from the U.S.

The Aero range, launched at the beginning of this year, will be on display in Hannover, with its electric and biofuel powered variants. Moreover, directly from the U.S., and already seen at ACT Expo, we’ll have the opportunity to admire the ‘exotic’ (for Europe) Volvo VNL, the latest truck model released for the North American market on an all-new platform including groundbreaking autonomous technologies. It’s the very first time this truck lands in Europe.

At IAA, Volvo will also exhibit the new Volvo FM Low Entry, also released earlier this year in its electric version only. Volvo Trucks will also demonstrate its upcoming e-axle technology, tailor-made for Volvo’s next-generation battery-electric and fuel cell electric trucks, enabling longer electric range as well as optimized drivability. Finally, visitors will have the opportunity to take a look at the incoming Volvo’s fuel cell test truck, a living proof that the Swedish manufacturer is working on hydrogen-related developments.
