The site has got 100 MW overall installed capacity. According to Huawei Central, the first phase has enabled the 50,000kW (50MW) for use, and a daily charging capacity of 300,000 kWh, allowing 700 electric heavy trucks to charge every day.

By integrating Octopus’s award-winning EV charging platform, Nissan drivers can now charge at over 1 million charge points from over 1,200 operators, including brands such as IONITY, Allego, Aral pulse or TotalEnergies.

The Smart Charging Cube, offered in cooperation with AW Automotive, can be operated in a vehicle depot or maintenance yard as well as in decentralised locations, such as construction sites. The Cube is essentially a battery with power electronics and a charging station.

Among the latest projects is the first hub in the Ruhr region, located in Recklinghausenhas. The latter, designed exclusively for electric trucks, is located in the Ruhr region in the presence of Mona Neubaur, North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.

The charging station will support a fleet of 25 trucks with a charging capacity of up to 360kW. The trucks will collect parts from Nissan's UK supply base stretching as far afield as Derby; as well as delivering finished vehicles to and from the Port of Tyne.
