Prologis and PragmaCharge announced plans to deliver a dedicated electric heavy-truck charging hub at MercaValencia, next to the Port of Valencia, with capacity to charge up to 48 electric heavy-goods vehicles simultaneously once fully operational. According to Prologis, the hub, spanning 12,500 square metres, is already under construction and will be developed in two phases. The first phase will include 14 high-power charging ports and is expected to be operational in Q3 2026. A second phase will then expand the facility to 48 charging ports, with full site completion targeted for Q1 2027.

The project brings together Prologis’ logistics real estate, development and energy infrastructure capabilities with PragmaCharge’s heavy-duty fleet electrification expertise and operating model. Prologis will develop and own the infrastructure, while PragmaCharge will lease and operate the hub as part of its Electric Truck-as-a-Service offering, which is already serving contracted customers in the region.

Statements from Prologis and PragmaCharge about the Valencia project

“Fleet electrification will only scale where charging is delivered in the right places, with the right energy capacity and an operating model that supports day-to-day fleet use,” said Melchert Duijve, VP Energy Solutions Europe, Prologis. “This hub brings those fundamentals together – a major logistics market, a port-adjacent site and infrastructure designed around the needs of heavy-duty electric transport. It also reflects how access to energy is becoming an increasingly important part of how supply chains operate and how logistics real estate evolves.”

“This hub is an important milestone for heavy-duty fleet electrification in Europe,” said Anil Srivastava, CEO and Cofounder of PragmaCharge. “At launch, we expect it to be Spain’s largest dedicated EV heavy-truck charging hub. Once fully built out, it will be one of Europe’s most significant dedicated charging facilities for electric heavy-goods vehicles – combining scale, location and operating capability in a way that can support real fleet use.”
