The Amazon Group has started testing BrightDrop electric vans in North America. BrightDrop is an e-van manufacturer belonging to General Motors. Amazon wants to launch at least 100,000 electric delivery vans all over the world in the next few years. That’s why the company is considering several electric van brands as possible suppliers. The news, provided by Reuters, has been recently confirmed by top managers at BrightDrop.

The BrightDrop project and the importance of a possible agreement with Amazon

General Motors has already sold a few electric van units to Amazon, last year. The BrightDrop project hasn’t been smooth at all, so far. In April, this year, the company was forced to temporarily halt production in Ontario, Canada, due to market slowdown. BrightDrop announced the intention to adjust production plants, including the one in Canada, to get ready for the 2026 model of the electric transporter.
