Despite the last messages full of confidence, Volta Trucks went out of business, once again. As the company was not delivering any official communication, the news was given by Business Development Manager, Carla Detrieux, with a message posted on LinkedIn. Here you can read a recent interview given to Sustainable Truck&Van by Carla Detrieux herself, and fellow Anthony Buron, about the second life of the e-truck manufacturer in ‘Phoenix mode’.

Volta Trucks: the sad news coming from social media

Eventually, the efforts put by a core of veterans were not enough to keep the company alive in the electric vehicle business. “Now 5 years later, the ending won’t be what you hoped for”, wrote Mrs Detrieux on LinkedIn in quite a touchy post. “The company you poured your whole heart into is preparing to shut its doors, again”.

Indeed, Volta Trucks aimed to change its business plan compared to the previous stage, which ended with the bankruptcy declared in October 2023. Off the records, Volta Trucks managers told us they were about to announce a valuable agreement with brand-new investors. We can suppose the agreement was not reached, at last.
