MCS charging can successfully contribute towards sustainable long-distance transport for heavy-duty vehicles. To drive further progress in the sustainable transformation of this high emitting transport sector, Siemens has introduced a prototype of the SICHARGE Megawatt Charging System.

Developers from Mercedes-Benz Trucks successfully charged for the first time a prototype of the eActros 600, which was presented last year, at a charging station with an output of one megawatt at the in-house development and testing center in Wörth am Rhein.

The so-called Flexible Charging System Pro is all-in-one charging solution for every situation when driving electric vehicles or plug-in hybrids. The portable wallbox is now available in the countries of the EU as well as in the UK and Switzerland.

The newly-signed cooperation will allow all truck drivers to use and pay for charging with their DKV Card +Charge. After opening the very first charging hub in Venlo, the Netherlands, Milence has the target to set over 1,700 charging hi-speed points all over Europe by 2027.

Headquartered in the Netherlands, Heliox employs approximately 330 people. The company's charging systems range from 40 kilowatts (kW) to megawatt charging solutions for depots and en-route charging.
